And also regular Tom yum soup
The only day they are typically closed is Tuesdays but if you're asking because of the cold I'm guessing they are there because they are very hard workers. Have you tried calling them?
Best Thai food in the city.
Very solid Thai food. If you really like it hot better ask for 9-10 on heat scale. I thought it would be cheaper based on other reviews but still not expensive. They do not sell alcohol but do allow you to bring your own. We were so hungry we forgot to take photos of our food! I liked the Thai fried rice, PadThai and Japanese tried tofu and egg plant.
One of the best value meals you'll have in Pittsburgh, and the most authentic Thai food I've had in town (and I've been to Thailand multiple times). Add on the fact that this restaurant is truly and entirely family run, and this is a place that both earns and deserves your business.
Grea food and friendly service. I highly recommend this place.
My husband and I came here for dinner last week, and it was great! We ordered fried rice and pad thai. Fried rice was at spicy level 5 and pad thai as at spicy level 8. Both were very hot already so if you aren't into spicy food I strongly recommend to order your food at spicy level 1 or 2 since level 5 was pretty hot already. But I love the food since there was good flavor to them. They have good samosas too. We would definitely come back!
I was recommended to try Thai Gourmet by /r/Pittsburgh and it was awesome. The employees were friendly, food was excellent and prices were great. Definitely recommend for good, fresh Thai food. I had the red curry at spice level 4 and it was delicious and the spice level was perfect.
Amazing food. Excellent pricing. Had spring rolls, veggie tum sum, and japanese eggplant. To die for.
My only regret is not finding this gem sooner! I dined in for a quick lunch one weekday afternoon and had the best tofu curry I’ve had since moving to Pittsburgh. The flavors were wonderful and the tofu was cooked perfectly. I couldn’t believe how little I paid for a meal that left me full and totally satisfied. The staff was really sweet too. I can’t wait to go back!
The Pad thai and chicken basil are good! The place has a good flow of customers on a Friday, friendly staff. Recommended if you are looking for a casual eat out.
This place is probably some of the best Thai food I've found since D.C. Fresh ingredients, American-size portions (for better or worse), and the two women who work front of house are really nice. Very veg friendly as well.
Great food and service at a very reasonable price
Ate there last night, it is a seat yourself kind of place. Everything came out very fast and was delicious. I got the pad thai at a low spicy level it was a good amount I could definitely handle more but it was amazing, a little on the sweet side. Would recommend.
Excellent good and very attentive service. The interior decor and atmosphere is also great. Highly recommended.
Popular Bloomfield spot. Everyone that works here is very friendly and sweet. The food tastes good and is consistent. I haven't tried very many different things, but everything I've had has been yummy. I last ordered the wonton soup and moo Palo which were both good. The moo Palo is my favorite entree so far. Not the best Thai food I've had, but I enjoy going. I can eat here with my vegan friends and have plenty of options. My favorite thing about this place is that I feel comfortable behind there and the service 👌👌👌 Forgot to take pic of the entree, sorry.
Excellent food and friendly service every time we visit. Good portion size. Not too fancy, but classic decor. A reliable choice for a satisfying meal.
I love the use of paper products for take-out! They do not leak.
Best Thai restaurant I've ever been to! Three of my friends and I have gone almost every Friday for about a year now. We love their Moo Palo, Tom Yum Noodle Soup, Japanese Eggplant, and General Tso in particular, but they have many other great dishes. Their portions are large. Everyone who work there is a sweetheart. I have no complaints.
A fav location for tasty Thai food. Certainly worth going back to.
The portions exceed expectation and the prices are reasonable
Pineapple curry is just perfect. Soup also great
Great food, the best Thai we've had in Pittsburgh yet. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself feels very nice and relaxing to be in. Tasty deserts, too - the mango sticky rice was wonderful. The staff packed up our leftovers for us and gave my girlfriend a fresh scoop of rice for her leftover curry! We will be back soon.
I walked in right before all of Bloomfield came for lunch. The very small restaurant filled to capacity quickly. The staff was friendly. They all work together in there like precision clockwork. The food was good ,service was fast, decor was a bit much but nice.
A family owned restaurant in Bloomfield - if you’re in the mood for Thai food, don’t pass this place up. We got chicken pad Thai and shrimp pad z-ew and it hit the spot!!! Very affordable. Not to mention great service.
Great food and they have a heat scale if 1 to 10. How cool is that? Mine was just the tight heat.
My favorite local restaurant! Everything is always fire!!
My husband and I moved to Pittsburgh PA from Bridgeport CT about 2 years ago.. We were exploring Pittsburgh to find authentic Thai food and accidentally found Thai Gourmet last summer. We were eating there almost every Sundays. Best Thai restaurant in western Pennsylvania.
Exceptional service and great food. Best spring roll I've had in a long time. Exceptional value for the money. Highly recommend.
5 stars for the service itself without any hesitation. The food was served quickly and accurately. Very friendly staff. Food tasted excellent! Definitely plan to visit again and again..
On my hunt for the best Thai in Pittsburgh, Thai Gourmet was pretty good. Service and atmosphere was great, staff was friendly, and food was tasty. My party of 3 ordered three different curry dishes at three different spice levels. My 8/10 dish was not that hot, so if you love spice this might not be the best place to find it. One member of my group commented the veggies in her dish were frozen, and while cooked fine, they were bland and lacking in any real taste. Overall, though, we had a good experience, and would definitely visit again.
One of the best Thai restaurants in Pittsburgh! Nearly a dozen times and always the best meal! Very friendly staff, quick service and absolutely incredible fresh food. Nice sized menu and generous portions. Very reasonable prices. Can be ordered from mild to very spicy with many options for proteim or can be made vegan. Despite being busy the dinner was served fast! Will 100 percent be back again and again. Easy to find location in Bloomfield. Would highly recommend.
Friendly atmosphere, nice and quaint. They're very accommodating to make the dish to your specifications. I've enjoyed several different dishes here, all were very tasty and good portion sized. They have a large selection to choose from, all with authentic flavors. This is a place I will continue to frequent.
Thai Gourmet never disappoints! The food is always amazing and the service is friendly. And now they have the best system we've found for takeout with social distancing.
Ordered takeout here for the first time and was highly impressed. Pumpkin curry was spot on and the crispy Thai spring rolls were really excellent. They also included a free dessert with my order which was very nice of them and highly appreciated!
This is my favourite Asian restaurant in Pittsburgh. Portions are large, very well prepared and the environment is more casual, good for families and groups. I am in love with the Pad Thai.
Exceptional food, kind staff, regularly good mood. They charge affordable pricing and the food quality is awesome. Great work.
They serve pretty authentic Thai food, the spices and ingredients are just perfect as per request.Though the place does not have a beautiful interior but the food is really good and very reasonable. The amount serving is also huge for the price. We called for Tom Yum Noodles and Chicken Satay, both the dishes were nice. Also the staff is friendly and welcoming, overall a good experience.
Excellent Food, Staff, and relaxed atmosphere. A hidden gem in Bloomfield as special in its unassuming store front as it is friendly dining experience to make you feel part of the family.
Excellent cuisine and service. You won't be sorry. A+++
Small, clean, not super fancy. Food was delicious, service was very fast & attentive, prices were reasonable. On-street parking. Restrooms are in the basement down a full flight of stairs. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 just because it's not fully accessible to folks with mobility challenges.
This place is on the top of my list for the best Thai in the city. Always so consistent, very generous portions, family owned and operated, and to top it off it's VERY vegan friendly. They have a separate fryer for all their vegetables, which is pretty uncommon. The General Tso's Tofu is the best I have ever had, I can't go here without ordering it! Spring rolls are so fresh, and crab ragoons are a staple order for my boyfriend. Recently had the chili paste stir fry and the veggies were SO fresh and of quality. Not mushy or anything. They stand up and are crisp and flavorful. I seriously dream about General Tso's tofu and have to satisfy the craving every so often. Nothing comes close to their dish! They also have awesome lunch specials and now offer delivery. Prices are very affordable, especially for the portion sizes and quality of food. Love supporting this restaurant whenever I can. They are also BYOB, added bonus!
Had the chicken pad Thai. Very spicy, very delicious. Portion size was an unexpected huge bonus, so much food. And a small complimentary dessert. 10/10 will eat again.
Food is very good and service is amazing. The waiters are kind and helpful. First time there and the food was great. Would definitely come here again when i visit Pittsburgh again!!
Came here looking for a good Thai place in Pittsburgh. I'm still looking. The place wasn't bad but it feels overhyped compared to other reviewers, the main reason why I came here.My measuring stick to any place is General Tso's. Yes. I know it's not Thai (or even real Chinese for that matter) but for me, it tells me the quality of their ingredients. The chicken tasted like it sat in a cardboard box and also was overcooked. The sauce on the other hand was not bad. They give the 1-10 spice index. I got a 1. My fiance got Pad Thai (another measuring stick dish for her) and she got a 6. I tasted it and it wasn't bad but it burned the second it hit your tongue. Her words...it almost makes the dish not edible.Maybe we come back. Maybe not.
Tofu was tough. If you don't know how to cook Tofu it should not be on the menu. All veggies, sauce and noodles in curry were excellent. Spicy soup tasty and tea in a giant coffee mug instead of a nice teapot and little cup like I enjoy. The tea is NOT on the menu...go figure. I only knew to ask cos I know Thai food.Decorated to the extreme. Nice staff.
I have had some really good, fiery curries here. The samosas are good, too.
Best Thai food in Pittsburgh at a lower price than all the others. BYOB and no corking fee. Sweet.
Great little nook restaurant with AMAZING Thai food and ridiculously low prices! DO NOT MISS THIS GEM! Your biggest challenge will be parking. Park in the lot at Liberty & Ella Street. You will have a short 50 yard walk. Staff was very courteous, fast and helpful. I am an out-of-towner. I eat here every time I get to Pittsburgh. If it was in my neighborhood, I would eat here once or twice every week! UPDATE: I have eaten here 8 times in the past two weeks. I have tried to eat a different dish ever tIme and have never been disappointed once!
Love their curry noodle bowls. I had red curry noodle bowl, and the curry was savory, sweet, had a perfect amount of tamarind, and crushed peanuts were fun to eat. Very generous portions!
Great food and they manage the necessities of operating during a pandemic quite well.
The food is delicious and the service outstanding. . From soups and appetizers to curries and noodles Oh, I'm sure you'll find something that will Delight your palate.
